Plants/crops under abiotic, environmental (salinity, drought, & heat) stresses, plants/crops/turfgrass species/genotypes/cultivars to environmental stresses and screening various plants/crops/turfgrasses for stress tolerances in hydroponics culture as well as in the field, optimum nutrient and water requirements of the plants/crops/turfgrasses under normal and stressful conditions
Biography
Mohammad Pessarakli is a Professor in the School of Plant Sciences at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA. His work at the university include research, extension, and teaching various courses in Plant Sciences. He is the Editor of the Handbook of Plant and Crop Stress, Handbook of Plant and Crop Physiology, Handbook of Photosynthesis, Handbook of Turfgrass Management and Physiology, andHandbook of Cucurbits, all published by CRC Press. He has written over twenty book chapters, Editorial Board member of Journal of Plant Nutrition, Communications in Soil Science and Plant Analysis, and Advances in Plants & Agriculture Research, a member of the Book Review Committee of Crop Science Society of America, and a Reviewer of the Agronomy and Crop Science Society of America, and HortScience Journals. He is the author/co-author of over 200 journal articles and 55 trade magazine articles. He is an active member of the Agronomy and Crop Science Society of America, among others. Professor Pessarakli is an Executive Board member of the American Association of the University Professors, Arizona Chapter. He is a well-known Internationally recognized Scientist and Scholar and his environmental stress research work and expertise is also internationally recognized. He is an esteemed member (invited) of 5 Who’s Who and numerous honor societies. Professor Pessarakli is a Certified Professional Agronomist and Soil Scientist, designated by the American Registry of the Certified Professionals in Agronomy, Crop, and Soil Science, and he is a United Nations Consultant in Agriculture. He received his BS (1977) in Environmental Resources in Agriculture and MS (1978) in Soil Management and Crop Production from Arizona State University, Tempe, and his PhD (1981) in Soil and Water Science from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
