Abstract

1.1.  Introduction: Cervical melanoma is a rare condition with a poor prognosis. Diagnosis is challenging and primarily relies on pathological and immunohistochemical studies. This report aims to present a case of cervical melanoma.

1.2.  Case report: We treated a 69-year-old patient referred for postmenopausal bleeding associated with a cervical mass. A gynecological examination revealed a proliferative cervical mass infiltrating the upper two-thirds of the vagina without affecting the parametrium. Immunohistochemical analysis of the cervical biopsy confirmed melanoma. The staging work-up was negative, classifying the patient as FIGO stage IVa.

Conclusion: Cervical melanoma is a rare and poorly prognostic condition. This case highlights the importance of considering melanoma in the differential diagnosis of cervical tumors, especially in advanced stages
