Biography
Professor Masami Okamoto has been a faculty member at the Toyota Technological Institute since 1996. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic and Polymeric Materials from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1994. Over his career, he has held visiting professorships in Italy, Poland, and Saudi Arabia and has published more than 200 scientific papers with over 29,700 citations. He has received numerous international awards, including the Clarivate Frontier Research Award (2004), the Royal Society Joint Project Award (2009), and the Advanced Materials Research & Innovation Award (2025). In addition to his academic role, he serves as Vice-President of the Society of Rubber Science and Technology, Japan.
