Biography

Dr. Shadia Salem is a Professor of Apparel Manufacturing Technology at the Faculty of Human Sciences and Design, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. She currently serve as Head of the Development and Quality Unit and as PhD Program Coordinator in the Department of Fashion and Textile. She also work as a part-time consultant at the Faculty of Maritime Studies, King Abdulaziz University. With over 25 years of academic and research experience, her work integrates fashion and textile technology, sustainable innovation, quality assurance in higher education, and curriculum development. Throughout her academic career, she have published approximately 40 peer-reviewed research papers, including publications indexed in Web of Science, and supervised 23 Master’s and PhD theses. Her scholarly activities also extend to industrial design registrations and patent applications. She have been actively involved in academic accreditation and quality review processes at national and regional levels as a certified academic quality practitioner and as a member of multiple accreditation review teams under the Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC), Saudi Arabia. She also contribute to the academic community through editorial board memberships and peer-review activities for international journals, including ISI-indexed publications. Her academic philosophy is grounded in bridging technological advancement in apparel manufacturing with sustainability, heritage preservation, and quality-driven academic leadership.
