Biography

Victor M Whizar-Lugo received his MD degree from Facultad de  Medicina, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Hospital General de México and his residency in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the InstitutoNacional de la Nutrición in México City. He was a Fellow at the Department of Anaesthesia, Pain Clinic at University of California Los Angeles, USA. He works in the ICU of Hospital General de  Tijuana, Instituto de Salud de Baja California, México. He has an extensive private practice in anesthesia. Is a member of the InstitutosNacionales de Salud as an associated investigator. He has been a member of numerous medical societies and received several honors and awards, and was professor of anesthesiology at Universidad NacionalAutónoma de México and Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, México. He has more than 100 publications on Anesthesia, Pain, Critical Care and Internal Medicine journals/books. He was a member Editor of several journals, and was Chief Editor for the journal Anestesia en México during 6 years. He was president of Federación Mexicana de Colegios de Anestesiología AC and is the founding President of Anestesiología y Medicinadel Dolor, a free medical educative program on internet.
