Abstract

Here we exhibit alternative proofs of the identities given by Persson-Strang and (HuatChan)- -Wan-Zudilin for the Legendre polynomials. Besides, we show the connection between the Lanczos derivative and these polynomials via the Rangarajan-Purushothaman’s formula.
